The Miles Davis All-Stars were booked for one week at Birdland, February 15-21 (Thursday-Wednesday). It was during this engagement that Jackie McLean made his debut with Davis, and there's an often-repeated story that he was so nervous that he ran off the bandstand one night, only to throw up on the way to the men's room.
